About Alex.
Why I’m running
My name is Alex Wait and I am a proud resident of Granger, Indiana where my family has lived for 25 years. I had the absolute best childhood growing up in the Michiana area where I went to great schools and lived in a safe community.
The public education I got from Penn-Harris-Madison schools set me up for life and allowed me to graduate from Xavier University with a double major before I received my master’s degree from King’s College London. I used my education to become a successful scriptwriter for a YouTube channel with almost two million subscribers. When Katie and I decided to start a family, moving back to Granger was a no-brainer.
Although we are very happy after welcoming a little girl into our lives last May, something is wrong in our community. Our schools are getting more expensive and Indiana’s state government is depriving our kids of needed resources. New parents like us are constantly squeezed by the rising costs of childcare while Indianapolis shows no interest in helping.
People who want to send their kids to the best public schools in the state can barely afford to live in the PHM or Mishawaka school districts. Katie and I are afraid that we will have to deal with one of a parent’s worst nightmare: that our kids won’t have the same enriching and safe childhood that we did.
Unfortunately, Indiana’s out-of-touch state government is the biggest problem.
That’s why I’m running for Indiana 5th Statehouse District. If you care about reducing costs for working families in Osceola, Granger and Mishawaka, vote for me. If you care about our children receiving the best education possible, vote for me. And if you want a state representative who is going to be YOUR representative, vote for me.
