How do we rebuild?
I support development. I would love to see vacant farmland transformed into a community center where our kids can have access to a public pool, or a childcare center to ease the burden placed on parents who live in the area. That way our local union workers still get paid and our community gets something it needs. Microsoft has not explained the benefits of building a data center in the middle of our community. Worse yet, they have hidden the costs of this project from the public and the impact it will have on our health. That is wrong and it does a disservice to our union laborers working on this project.
The job is supposed to be public service, but too many politicians treat it like a career path, a networking club, or a way to cash in. Let’s make it so career politicians can’t choose their own voters.
Housing, groceries, and utilities keep climbing, and paychecks are not keeping up. Our state government had been warned years ago that their decisions would raise prices in the future and unfortunately, that has come to pass. With better representation, we can make it possible for families to stay rooted here and actually get ahead.
Neighborhood schools are a community anchor, and politicians should stop using them as a battlefield. Schools should be funded, supported, and protected so kids have real opportunity and families can afford to stay rooted here.
